365 days of ambivalence
He watched her as she walked down the aisle
Her flawless countenance looked all the more perfect
As her nose protruded when she smiled
She was precisely a self-reliant damsel
She had humpteen reasons to move past his gestures of gamble
But somehow her conscience lurked to leer at them
It was 365 days of ambivalent moves from both the twain
She kept on waiting all the while
That she was destined to meet him in the aisle
But his answers should've made sense
Everytime she longed for his caress,
He thought "Why should I? "
But she was too reckless to sense that
The future she worried about,
May be she was never in it.
It was never about the compatibility!
Both of them knew where things went wrong.
And decided not to concentrate on how it ended
But to cherish, how beautiful it budded.
He thought about how he trampled
Her efforts and feelings,
But she never gave up the hold of the thinnest string.
Seldom he imagined, that the thinnest string hold the strongest, but not for long !
He wiped off his rolling tears,
When the groom tied the wedding knots
Deep down he knew that
With his ego and boastful self
He lost a maiden who loved him the most
He left the hall wishing her
All love and zeal she deserved
Which he failed to shower upon
He asked himself
"Why didn't I? "
With love,
Ms. Affable ❤
