GIRLS ON THE TRAIN

My title is something  funny nah? Yup title inspired from a recent thriller book I read by Paula Hawkins 😉.My train gang is my first blog content.

This is the first thing which came to my mind when I thought of writing a blog.

"For your kind attention passengers, the train number 40514 from chengalpattu, to chennai beach is ready to leave from platform no-2 at six hours fifty five minutes" Well my day starts with this announcement actually!

My gang is not too big or small. Its just 11 of us and some of our siblings. We met in the 6.55 emu train. Not everyone was new, some of them were my schoolmates, childhood friend's schoolmates, friend's department friends and tution Friend's friends and it went on like that. It's going a bit vague nah?

If someone asks me,"What's the best thing about college life? " My reply would be certainly my train gang. They never failed to pamper me or make me laugh even in the days I forget my smile!

Whenever I used to see others status or comments about travelling like, "listening to music while travelling is the best experience, bliss, blah,blah..." , I used to laugh inside. Because when someone with  ear phones sit near us, they'll probably remove that earphones atleast thrice to find out why the hell are we laughing like mad people😂 . That's how we'll make every day's journey memorable.

It's not just train, it's our home!! We used to comb, get ready, write assignments for each other, prepare for exams, fold dupattas, feed each other, discuss about imaginary boyfriends , sometimes sleep, everything in one hour journey! Thank god, there exist a seperate compartment for ladies or else we would have not survived this 10 long months.

We used to always wander and plan outings unexpectedly. Like till tambaram we'll be talking about which mam will come today, what day order would be followed! Suddenly when we get down in chrompet we'll change our plans🤪.

Our bond is not just about having fun and making memories. Have you heard this phrase, "There is no need for a mirror to scrutinize a hand jury". That's how they are! A fortnight before, I met with a mild accident ended up with stitches and difficulty in walking . Like I took literally thirty minutes to limp and reach my college from railway station which usually takes 8-10 minutes. They'll used to wait and come with me and never showed a face like its getting late. I have never felt low for limping in the streets while everyone gaze at my wound. Because I probably would be laughing for some random 'kumari jokes' ignoring the surrounding. Some of them stand out for going late but they never bothered. They carried my bag and belongings and whatever they could do to make me comfortable. The whole healing journey was never painful for me!

Parental care is something different. But I felt their care more than that! Not only this incident, if I wanna go somewhere after college, I'll just inform them, and I never went alone.  Atleast one of them will accompany me. It's better to refer them 'train fam' than referring as 'train gang'

There is an unspoken bond you create with the friends you travel with! As with any journey,  whom you travel with is more important than the destination you are gonna reach. So find better companion in your life journey!

This is my first blog. Till yesterday I was just writing captions for random  Instagram post, but one of my well wisher recently suggested me to pen down my thoughts as blog. And that's how I ended up writing this. I know for sure that my diction and vocabulary is not so good. Still I believe that one fine day after continuous writing, my vocabulary and diction will be better.

Thanks for reading and wishing you a happy and comfortable journey!!

                                                 With love,

                                              Ms. Affable ❤
