YOU WERE NEVER MINE

You came into my life, just like a random lightening flash! 
Never knew that it would feel like a asteroid dash. 

Days rolled on and on...... 
Getting used to the illumination you casted upon! 
When my heart decided to own the shine;
It uttered, "I was taken by someone in cloud-nine."
Still moved past with the light you shined. 

Then my life journey took unexpected turns;
Sinking heart with forever burns! 
Your light saved me from plunging, 
Consummated in you unknowing. 

Then one fine day, it hit me hard, 'a line'
Reminding me, "you were never mine".
Decided to go with the flow. 
Not to dig the broken heart deep thorough! 

My heart knows, they weren't just moments! 
But every second had a significance. 

Living with the reminiscence of memories divine, 
I know from the day I met, " YOU WERE NEVER MINE"

I welcomed him, when I was two!  With much eager and anticipation, I got A new lively toy to play with He who pronounced my name first!  He who followed everything I did!  We grew up exploring everything together!  We grew up sharing toys,  Sharing food and sharing jokes,  Even deepest secrets and dreadful gossips!  We grew up in each other's shadow  And all of a sudden, one day He grew up taller than me!  Spoke a litter wiser than me.  A bit fairer than me , made me jealous.  Then he started growing apart from me.  Now I stand alone and lonely,  Unable to accept the bitter fact That , "he's not my little toy anymore".                                       With love,                                   Ms. Affable ❤
